I have my gripes with this.
1st off, I read often that ddi and sdi are capped in order to nullify squash matches, and yet instatap makes it possible to win a match in 1 move, even against opponents of equal strength.
2nd, you can forfeit someone in 3 moves, (1st move scream in pain and seems injured, second seriously injured and unable to continue, 3rd forfeit) 3 move win which is also a squash match.
3rd, Bleed was nerfed due to wrestlers getting KO'd in 5 moves without losing any stamina or hitpoints, yet nowadays you can be forfeited in the same circumstances in even less moves (3) using submissions.
4th, This goes for all matchups but even if you have a strong wrestler and you go against somebody weaker, should they manage to make you scream your stamina will vanish almost instantly and your wrestler will turn into a potato and be useless and soon forfeited.
5th, Escape submission is too unreliable a stat to avoid 'getting hit in the 1st place' I can have 2x more escape sub than someone has sub bonus and they can still occassionaly get holds on me and thus make me scream which then makes my wrestler useless.
6th, due to the nature of the stamina drain, after you have screamed in pain it is near impossible to make a comeback in the match and a loss in almost a certainty.
7th, Block/dodge are also unreliable, due to it being necassary to avoid EVERY submission attempt, if your wrestler is hit once, then that 1 move has 2 chances to cause injury (due to 2 holds) and then it's all downhill from there.
8th, Because submissions are so strong versus everything, everyone has a submission build or some kind of variant, and its necassary to use these builds to remain competitive. Your hand is forced unless yoy want to be beaten easily by significantly weaker wrestlers. I've found this makes the game very bland and 1 dimensional compared to before this era when players could choose what build they wanted and if it was executed well wouldn't suffer much consequence versus other types of builds. Builds like heavy damage (ddi moves as a whole seem to be useless after a certain exp mark), bleed, tank, are all irrelevant due to the prevelance and prosperity of submissions.
Those are just my opinions and I think the game would be better if submissions were HEAVILY nerfed, or DDI and bleed were buffed HEAVILY to come in line. Bleed is simply countered by HP and DR, which has no effect on submissions. DDI is countered by huge amounts of dr and HP caused by cards, which renders there deployment inffective at most. Submissions cut through all these mitigators simply with 1 scream or 1 instatap if you have SDI.
I've read here the stamina drain values are subject to change, and I would give a suggestion to make bleed and submission drain the exact same amount, for example 0.2% hp and stamina drain regardless if you've been cut or have screamed. And Maybe make it so you can not be forfeited/KO'd untill 90% stamina loss and tapped out untill 75%.
